DETAIL VIEW: DAVID'S PLACE
|
Early one morning in the parking lot of Sara Park, Sacramento, fellow artist David Peterson showed me an excellent watercolor painting he had done earlier in the week. David's subject matter was a 21st Street mansion. A short while later we set up along the banks of the American River for a great morning of painting. As I was considering subject matter for the day, the thought occurred to me it might be fun, as well as a good painting exercise to see if I could pull from memory some of the basic shapes suggested by David's painting. I also knew the exercise provided an ideal opportunity to practice a bit of free expression. David Peterson's fine watercolors can be seen at http://www.aquarellist.com |
