DETAIL VIEW: Free River Forms
| What can I write about this piece? It follows a recent pattern of paintings which have been derived from outdoor, on-site sketches demonstrating a process one might use to "loosen up." The subject matter is "ad-libbed," but derived from a section of the American River Parkway, just west of the Wattt Avenue entrance, Sacramento, California. Roughly, 85% of the work was done on scene. I finished the painting later in my studio. After looking at it a few days, I added about five minor but important strokes/adjustments. |
