“We learn something by doing it. There is no other way.”

"FREE FRIDAYS" OUTDOOR WATERCOLOR MINI-WORKSHOPS are currently being offered in Sacramento by watercolor artist Woody Hansen. No cost. No registration. No Tuition. No catch. Just show up for inspiration, guidance, help, sharing of information, conversation, painting camaraderie, and the freshness of the outdoors.

WHO'S WELCOME: ALL LEVELS, including Beginners, Intermediates, and Advanced! Bring your sketch book, your painting equipment, friend or friends, and/or lots of questions. Out-of-region, out-of-state visitors welcome! "Free Fridays" watercolor Mini-Workshops offer an excellent opportunity for anyone trying watercolor for the first time. Free Fridays provide an excellent opportunity to properly PREPARE for outdoor painting. If you have no equipment for outdoor painting, show up for help in obtaining the proper equipment.

LOCATION: "Free Friday" workshops will meet IN THE PARKING LOT at Sara Park, 2350 Rogue River Drive, along the American River, east of Watt Avenue at La Riviera Drive. Printable directions with a map are available at the web site (see above). All ages (those under 18 should be accompanied by an adult).

SCHEDULE: Fridays, 9 AM - 12 Noon, throughout the year. See web site for latest details <http://www.allthingswatercolor.com>

DESCRIPTION: "Free Fridays" participants are welcome to observe, sketch, photograph, or paint (or any combination of the aforementioned activities). Woody will begin a watercolor demonstration at each session. Before, during and after the demo he will be available to answer questions, and provide help and guidance.

The instructional aspect of the Mini-Workshops will be varied and flexible, based each time on the interest and needs of participants. Mini-Workshops are not intended nor should they be thought of as an effective replacement for Group and Private Workshops. "Free Fridays" Mini-Workshops are an ideal introduction, preparation, or follow-up to Group and Private Workshops.

MATERIALS: First-timers (beginners), the budget conscious, and anyone else unclear about materials are encouraged, but not required, to attend one Mini-Workshop prior to purchasing materials. Bring your questions regarding what to buy and what to avoid. You'll come away well informed, more confident, and better able to make cost-effective material purchases appropriate to outdoor painting. A simple, one-page Materials List is available on the web site at "Free Fridays Workshops" <http://www.allthingswatercolor.com>.

EMAIL NOTIFICATION: Receive advance email notifications of future workshop schedules and information. Send an email with the word "Updates" in the subject line to workshops@allthingswatercolor
