| BARRY
SHOLDER - I discovered Barry's site, Radical
Auto Art, when he signed up for my newsletter, "What's New?"
Barry specializes in automobiles. He uses the design principle of "exaggeration"
to create wonderfully whimsical customized, airbrushed, caricatures of
all kinds of automobiles. He also offers prints for car enthusiasts who
are looking for work that captures the spirit of fine automobiles. It
is a "fun" site, worthy of a visit! |

beautiful site features Carolyn's ever evolving, wonderfully, inventive,
bold, original art work, as well as her poetry and journal. Also linked

and Indonesia. These two sites are a pleasure to behold. Every page and
link offers a visitor the joy of creativity, discovery, surprise, and
another learning opportunity. |

CALIFORNIA
COLLEGE OF ARTS & CRAFTS
- Fond Memories, extremely
fond memories. Thanks and much respect for the Oakland campus. Note: California
College of Arts and Crafts, CCAC is currently known as CCA, California
College of the Arts. It seems the only constant in life is change.
What ever happened to "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?" Insecurity
issues? Ah, well ... the "grey beards always resist change anyway.
They will adjust." |
CENTRAL REGISTRY - The leader in home page registration
and promotion. This large resource has extended an invitation for me to

"bug 'em!" (grin). |

GALLERY, THE
- Artist Manricos Orlandi,
was born in 1936 in Turin, Italy. Manrico's "pictorial technique much
follows that of Renaissance masters. The choice of subjects is inspired
by a sense of harmony and a high desire in looking for perfection. This
is the reason why many of his works represent nudes, but his search for
beauty extends to any subject, be it a landscape, an animal, a still life
or a religious figure." |
MENDOCINO ART CENTER
- The Mendocino Art
Center is a very special place overlooking the sea from the top of the
headlands. It has been a haven for professional artists and all levels
of students since 1959. The Mendocino Art Center is an educational, exhibition,
and resource center for the visual and preforming arts located 150 miles
north of San Francisco in the quiet coastal village of Mendocino. The
Art Center has earned national and international reputations which attract
an impressive selection of renowned faculty members, yet has remained
small enough for productive dialogues between students and teachers, professional
artists and beginners.
The facilities at the Mendocino Art Center include studios and classrooms
for fine arts, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, textiles and computer arts.
Four gallery spaces provide exhibition opportunities to emerging and established
artists. Twelve apartments are available for instructors and artists in
residence. The MAC gift shop features fine art by local artists and members
and the Center's Helen Schoeni Theatre is home to a thriving community
theatre group. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, primarily with
native plants and the Zacha Sculpture Garden features not only sculpture
but a lovely tiled courtyard surrounded by the art studios. |

| CALIFORNIA
WATERCOLOR- In the period between 1850 and today, California has
been the home to a large number of extremely talented and versatile watercolor
artists. While some became nationally and internationally recognized,
most were largely overlooked until recent years. The group of artists
working in this style often chose to paint watercolors depicting scenes
of everyday life in the cities and suburbs of California. They were considered
an important part of the American Scene or Regionalist movement that swept
across the United States during the mid part of the twentieth century.
The best of their works were painted directly with little or no preliminary
pencil drawing, had bold design, creative use of the white paper as a
“color” and featured the transparency of this unique medium.
With the increased popularity of watercolor painting in recent years,
the innovations of the California style have become part of the mainstream
of American art |

| D
GROUP - Steve Elkins of the D Group sent me a very helpful
tip on how I might improve the visual design of my site. He did this unsolicited.
As a "thank you," I'd like to recommend and link to Steve's clean, elegant
web site. The D Group goal- "To create and implement advertising & marketing
strategies that stand our clients out from the pack. To be an innovator
and leader in our field, and to have a great time doing it." And, I would
like to add ... it's another site "Made on a Mac!" 3 |

| KENNETH
RAY WILSON- Ken says of his work, "I have
always been attracted to the beauty of the landscape. The variety of colors,
structure, and textures in nature provide endless inspiration for subjects
in my paintings. The Impressionism period of art has most influenced my
work, most particularly the paintings of Monet. Since I am a self-taught
painter, the style and images I produce are uniquely my own. I am constantly
experimenting to produce effects that give new works a fresh appearance."
