Group photo   Critique and Appreciation
DAY ONE: Just before critique: (Rear) Judy L, Tersilla G, Gale H, David P, Robin K, (Front) Mee V, and Joann W.   A beautiful February day in Sacramento as we get ready for the critique and appreciation of the day's work.
Paintings for critique   Robin sets up
A few of the many works created earlier this afternoon by one beginner, and a group of accomplished painters!   DAY TWO: Robin finds her special spot and begins the set up process among the trees.
 Gale sets up   Tersilla sketches
Gale sets up near a couple of large trees that provide an interesting design arrangement for this particular photo.
Tersilla - the very determined beginner in the group - prepares her preliminary sketch along the river's edge.

Judy painting

  Mee and Gale painting
Judy gets into the swing of things early and gets set to paint on this beautiful Wednesday afternoon by the river.   Mee and Gale take up positions close to one another. I notice each is painting to the music of her own iPod!
Joann painting

David contemplates
While others spread out among the trees, Joann selects a spot near the river bank and an ample supply of water!
David - a prolific and fast painter - contemplates the approach for one of his many accomplished paintings.
Painting group in trees   Gale and Mee painting
It's fun to see a group of like-minded people spread out among the trees on a brisk, spring-like afternoon!   Gale and Mee again. Here Mee trys her hand at a larger sized painting. All these folks produced like crazy!
Joann concentrates   Rio in the shade
Joann concentrates on her painting unaware of David in the background getting a fresh supply of river water.   Here's a shot of my paintin' buddy, Rio guarding the area for us. David and Joann are in the background.
Robin and Woody talk.   Mee's lunch break.
Robin and Woody discuss the pros and cons of making some design, shape, and value decisions.   Mee takes time out for lunch. Luckily, Rio is unaware of an opportunity to mooch some food!
Tersilla and Judy painting   Lots of paintings
Tersilla and Judy hard at work. None of these folks wasted a minute of time getting into the swing of things!   Here we are at the end of the day with only a portion of the day's painting production. Lots of good stuff to appreciate.
Woody talking to group   Critique in progress
Woody gets one more opportunity to pass along some last minute information just prior to the critique.   It's always a special honor and pleasure to meet new friends and experience the joy of good paintings!
Woody pointing toward painting   Sacramento workshop
The afternoon shadows decend on the final day of our two-day workshop. I always find the last day a bit bittersweet.   Wish we had more time ... Joanne, Gale, Robin, David, Mee, and Judy. Hmm, where'sTersilla? And, where's Rio?

“You don’t have to be the world’s greatest artist to create a watercolor. All you need is to be sufficienty motivated to reach challenging goals.”
